3月29日（木）CRASH JAPAN本部でカート・サバンさん（わたしと徹先生の間の方）にお会いして、Ludlum Measurement, Inc.社製のModel 2241-2 型メーター/44-2型シンチレーションプローブセットについて使用方法の説明をして頂きました。昨年12月にCRASH JAPANが購入しましたが、MSR+で使ってほしいとの連絡があり、29日、説明と受け取りに私と徹先生が本部にうかがいました。

「厚生労働省：食品中の放射性セシウムスクリーニング法」適合機種です。
サバンさんは名古屋の方ですが、アメリカでの前職は原発で電気技師として働いておられ、２９日名古屋から説明のために東久留米まで来てくださり、この機械での放射線測定について指導・訓練してくださいました。当日わたしは午前１１時頃から午後２時まで、徹先生は午後６時まで指導を受けましたが、サバンさんは食品の計測については不充分として、５月１日に岩沼にクラッシュジャパンからの派遣として来てくださることになりました。
食品の計測については計測する場所・計測する時の状況・サンプルの選択と比較などなど、多くの点で注意すべきことがたくさんあります。
１．計測する場所を常に同じ条件にしておく必要があります。それは周囲の物などが変わると、同じ食品でも数値が変化することがあるからです。ですから、できれば 専用の部屋が必要です。
２．サンプルと計測するものを用意する。計測のために対象物が２ℓ必要です。サンプルは放射線の影響を受けていない地域から同じ物を用意する。
３．計測時間は最低でも１２時間～
食品計測については、厳しい基準があるので、それにも従う必要があります。そのためには事前の準備が大切と知りました。それから何よりも１年に一度、計測器が正しく計測しているか検査も実施します。
以上のようなことを考えると、今後ＭＳＲ＋で食品計測を行う場合には、岩沼センターもしくはあさどり販売所での計測を行うためには、ラボのような部屋を確保する必要があると知りました。
Ludlum Measurement, Inc.社製Model 2241-2 型メーター/44-2型シンチレーションプローブセットのトレーニングをしている時に、サバンさんの先生である、リトル先生ご夫妻が、1日昼、南仙台から訪ねてくださいました。
リトル先生はJEMAの宣教師で今年一年、宮城県の南部の復興支援活動のために、派遣されました。仮設住宅を訪問したり、今回も今後の活動のために、MSR＋との連携もできるのではとサバンさんからの依頼もあり、訪ねてくださいました。
MSR+の活動報告と今年のあさどり販売プロジェクトの資料をお渡ししました。５月２１日か２２日頃、もう一度今後の連携のために来てくださるとのことでした。
